Teresa Molina Opens the Door of Homeownership for the Next Generation of Latinx REALTORS®
For Teresa Molina, breaking down barriers means not allowing limits, negativity or preconceived ideas to stop you from achieving your goal—even if these barriers are of your own making. She believes in “working hard to move forward in overcoming any obstacles that are holding you back. All barriers can be broken with a positive outlook and a commitment to achieve a goal.”
But this mentality was not the case for Molina when she began her REALTOR® journey seventeen years ago. “I found myself in the position of wanting a job that would not only provide financial stability, but allow me a flexible schedule, as I wanted to spend more time with my children. But the fear of failing would always win.”
Finally, she sought advice from one of her mentors who opened her eyes to the possibilities offered by real estate. And with her encouragement, she took the leap, stepped out of her comfort zone and became a REALTOR®. The power of taking someone under your wing or tapping someone on the shoulder is priceless and for Molina, it has opened many doors of opportunity. Now, her mission is to pave it forward--to her clients through homeownership and to her real estate community through mentorship.
The power of taking someone under your wing or tapping someone on the shoulder is priceless and for Molina, it has opened many doors of opportunity.
And as the broker/owner at NT & Associates, Inc., in La Palma, California, Molina knows what it means to help someone realize their goal of homeownership. “Many people dream of one day owning their own home. However, homeownership is not only about ownership; it also opens up the doors to wealth creation for the individual and families.” She’s proud to have helped many families achieve homeownership and then capitalize--and build equity--to expand their real estate goals.
But to Molina, business success is not just financial success. For her, it’s measured by community impact as well. “I became involved with the California Association of REALTORS® when my local association leadership asked me if I would like to attend Legislative Day.”
Legislative Day gives REALTORS® the opportunity to meet and discuss real estate issues directly with their state legislators and staff in Sacramento, California. And after her first Legislative Day, she was hooked. “I felt honored to meet face to face with my local government officials and have my voice heard. Leg Day helped me see firsthand how REALTORS® make a difference in our state of California.”
Today, she paves her mission forward to the future generation of Latinx REALTORS® and encourages agents to ask questions, seek mentorship and get involved in communities such as C.A.R.’s Latinx Professionals Network. Molina’s story is a reminder that for every barrier, there is an opportunity; just keep going up the ladder, one rung at a time, and don’t ever give up. You will get there.
The California Association of REALTORS® proudly celebrates Teresa Molina as a Latinx industry leader.
